The first thing you need to do is download and install your Ubuntu.
To retrieve Ubuntu, navigate to the web page Ubuntu.com (you will find the link for this on the home page).
Once you get to the unbuntu.com web page you are going to select the icon in the left hand bar titled "get ubuntu"
Once you have done that you will get a page that asks if you want to download Ubuntu, request a CD, or buy a CD. You want to select the one that says "download now"
You will be asked which release you want. Select the dot next to the one that says "Ubuntu 7.10"
You will also be asked which type of computer you have. Select the one, depending on what type of computer you have, that is titled "personal computer"
When asked which location you want to download from, choose a location that is near you. I personally chose the "United States University of Minnesota" version.
Finally, select the option that says "Start Download"
When the screen comes up that asks you if you want to save or run the program: Choose the save option and save it to your hard drive.
